Project Overview
These positions support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology Configuration Management Department (CMD) under the T4NG contract. The CMD effort focuses on modernizing and standardizing Configuration Management (CM) across VA systems and products to improve IT reliability, security, and compliance. The project includes policy and governance support, compliance with federal security standards (FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 and SP 800-128), and automation of CM activities within CI/CD pipelines.
Technical Project Manager
Project Context: Leads project management activities supporting VA CMD, ensuring CM standards, audits, and automation initiatives are delivered on time and in compliance with federal standards.
Job Board Style Summary
- Lead project planning, reporting, and risk/issue management.
- Oversee CM activities across VA systems and products.
- Manage dashboards and reporting tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, etc.).
- Support governance, audits, and compliance with FISMA/NIST security controls.
Requirements
- PMP certification required.
- 5+ years managing VA OIT contracts involving CM.
- Experience with SDLCs, CM frameworks, and CI/CD environments.
- Proficiency with VA tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, MS Teams).
- Strong background in risk management and reporting.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with SAFe, IEEE 828, ITIL.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and SP 800-128.
- Strong stakeholder communication and change management experience.
Job Requirement
PMP certification required
